Access to Medical Records

In accordance with the data protection legislation, patients may request to see their medical records. Such requests should be made through the practice manager and whilst these are usually provided free of charge, occasionally they may be subject to an administration charge. No information will be released without the patient consent unless we are legally obliged to do so.

The practice holds medical records confidentially and securely and primarily they are used for the safe and effective delivery of direct care but sometimes parts of the record may be used for the efficient management of the NHS or medical audit or medical research.
